Join host Leslie Mueller as she explores more of America’s top museums in Season 6 of MUSEUM ACCESS. From covered wagons to nuclear submarines and the Huey Helicopter to international spies and the American Impressionists there is something for everyone this season. As always, Leslie talks to the experts for their unique perspective and then goes ‘behind-the-scenes’ in each episode. This season continues to focus on the adventure of learning for all ages. Curious kiddos will love seeing their favorite classic cars from Hollywood movies and lifelong learned will enjoy learning more about plant research and the impact on climate change. History buffs will be surprised by the priceless collection of American financier, JP Morgan. This season includes a very special episode featuring some of the most interesting people in the museum world and their personal journeys to success. We’ll also revisit a few of our viewer favorites traveling to prehistoric times and the wildlife world.

601: BEST OF PREHISTORIC TIMES – LA / Chicago

Join host Leslie Mueller as she steps back to prehistoric times in this viewer favorite special episode. We revisit The La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles to learn more about the fossil discoveries in the on-site tar pits, and the Field Museum in Chicago to learn more about their resident T-Rex, Sue. Then we visit Blue Rhino studios in MN to see how some of the amazing creatures we enjoy in our country’s museums are actually produced.

Join host Leslie Mueller at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, IL and enjoy Mother Nature in full Fall bloom. Explore 385 acres of living plants, display gardens and natural habitats. 606: AMERICAN IMPRESSIONISTS – BRUCE MUSEUM / BUSH HOLLEY HOUSE, Greenwich, CT

Join host Leslie Mueller as she explores the American Impressionists. We begin at the breathtaking Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT learning about American artist’s interpretations of the European Impressionist style and the local connections. The join Leslie at the nearby Bush-Holley House to take a behind-the-scenes to see where many of these artists lived, exchanged ideas and painted beginning in the late 1800s, shaping the American Impressionist movement.

607: INTERNATIONAL SPY MUSEUM –Washington, DC

Join host Leslie Mueller as she steps into the world of espionage at the international Spy Museum in Washington, DC. and see if you’ve got what it takes to be a spy. From ‘tools of the trade’ and James Bond’s classic car to present day cybersecurity and terrorism, Leslie learns how this secretive world has shaped American history.

608: BEST OF WILDLIFE –Tupper Lake, NY /Chicago, IL

In this special episode, we revisit 2 of our ‘viewer favorites’ in the wildlife world. First, we head to the Adirondacks to the Wild Center to learn about one of its’ temporary residents, a majestic red-tailed hawk. Then we head to the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago to sit in on a beluga whales training session. We even see a Fly River turtle getting its’ annual check-up.

609: MORGAN LIBRARY AND MUSEUM – NYC

Join host Leslie Mueller at one of the most stunning locations in Manhattan. The Morgan Library and Museum was once the home of the gilded age financier J.P. Morgan. Leslie visits his personal office and the stunning library filled with rare books, then views a very special exhibition filled with illuminated manuscripts, drawings, manuscripts, archeological artifacts and even a rarest of rare, Gutenberg Bible. Then she goes behind-the-scenes to see how fragile artifacts are lovingly cared for by experienced staff members.

Join host Leslie Mueller as she salutes the U.S. Army at the National Museum of the United States Army in Ft. Belvoir, VA. Leslie learns more about this state-of -the-art museum that not only highlights the history of the U.S. Army but explores challenges of a changing world. Then join her as she goes behind-the-scenes to learn more about the painstaking process of creating the strikingly lifelike figures and exhibits throughout the museum.
