Culture Shock: Bridging Cultures Through Magic

Richard treks through the Andes to reach a remote Quechua village 16,000 feet above sea level. Led by a local expeditioner, Leo Gonzalas, he climbs mountains and braves harsh weather to reach the Quechua, where he performs magic for a family. Richard meets a mountain shaman who undergoes a sacred ritual to Pachamama, or ‘mother earth’

Richard travels down treacherous white water rapids, in the Amazon and heads down the Madre de Dios to reach an indigenous community called Palma Real, home to a herbal jungle shaman. Rich observes a traditional circle dance, performs magic for the community and learns the traditional Amazonian way of cooking fish.

Richard puts his kayaking skills to the test when he meets up with a Lakota Native American on the water. They travel down the river by canoe and Kayak to meet a shaman. Rich finds out about the Lakota’s belief in REAL magic and the powerful magic he has heard of in Africa, especially Egypt.

Richard travels to Egypt, where he has to use his magic as a way to find Egypt’s hidden secrets and history. Then it’s off to Ethiopia where he travels through the Omo valley in the south, meeting some of the most eclectic tribes that Africa has to offer. He performs magic for them and learns about their traditions. Heading North, to the Tigray area, Rich climbs to one of the mountain monasteries and performs magic for the nuns and priests there.

Continuing the adventure, Rich performs magic for tribes and locals as he explores Kenya, the wildlife and the magic. He climbs Mount Kenya, a sacred and magical mountain to the Masaai, and learns of the magical qualities of Kilimanjaro.
