Few people choose to contemplate critical illness or the inevitability of death until their time comes. Because possibilities are rarely discussed, many people are unprepared or unable to make critical end-of-life decisions and spend their last days in over-medicalized and unnecessarily painful and protracted situations.

Breaking through the taboo of discussing death, Hattie Bryant shows that we have choices. Inspired by the peaceful death her mother was almost denied, Bryant began gathering information from national experts in palliative care, geriatrics, oncology, bio-ethics, psychology, and spirituality. I’ll Have It My Way credibly and passionately presents the case for personal responsibility in the healthcare, legal, and procedural decisions that all of us must make – if they are not to be made for us.

In this I’ll Have It My Way Workbook, Hattie Bryant makes it easy for you to follow her “4 Steps to Freedom & Peace” by properly preparing you, and everyone around you, for the end of your life. You will get simple instructions on how to properly prepare all your documents and named the person who will be your proxy when needed.

5) Self-Quiz 

A simple self-quiz, very easy to use and score, that will tell you where you stand now on your journey to live fully all the way to the end of your days. It tests you in the six major areas of the physical, spiritual, mental, social, and financial. This is a non-scientific self-evaluation designed to help you assess your current situation and set some goals for improvement.

6) Your Circle of Care 

A very useful tool for you to write down your family-members, friends, primary care doctor, specialist doctors, clergy – and most importantly, the person you have chosen as your proxy when needed. You create a fantastic document-of-record for yourself and others when you have filled it all out. What you create is intended to be copied and shared wilth everyone you have included in your personal Circle of Care.

7) Wallet Card ­

A handy-sized card that lets anyone know at the time of a medical emergency that you wish to live your life fully to the end and that you want to seek palliative care at the hospital. Most importantly, it contains a space for you to write in your healthcare proxy and their contact information.
