Closer To Truth 1100′s
Dr. Robert Lawrence Kuhn, creator and host of the series, seeks answers to fundamental issues of universe, meaning and purpose. Closer To Truth is the definitive series on Cosmos, Consciousness and God, a global journey in search of the vital ideas of existence. It is the most complete, compelling, and accessible series on these large subjects ever produced for television.
Closer To Truth explores fundamental issues through intimate, candid conversations with leading scientists, philosophers, scholars, theologians and creative thinkers of all kinds. The shows are a rich visual experience, shot entirely on location in high definition with multiple cameras generating rich production values.
Each Closer To Truth episode presents Robert embarking on a personal exploration in search of answers to a single Great Question. The audience joins him as he travels to meet world-renowned experts, four to six per episode, each of whom brings a different viewpoint or perspective. Between experts, Robert summarizes the previous conversation and sets up the next one with a bridging segment, represented with visually interesting footage. Each episode concludes with Robert providing a summary observation, which may not be a definitive “answer” but will always draw viewers “closer to truth.”
There will be a total of 169 episodes available by 2013 – currently 130 – making Closer To Truth ideal for a daily strip – as several stations already do
I’ll Have It My Way with Hattie Bryant
“The medicalization of American life from birth to death is killing our souls.”
– Hattie Bryant
As much as we all want to believe we can live forever, we all know deep down that it simply can’t be true.
From this program viewers learn that there are things each of us can do to live fully, all the way to the end. Anyone who is willing to take four simple steps now, while healthy, can minimize if not avoid entirely, the pain, suffering, confusion and disagreements that can arise when end-of-life healthcare wishes are not clearly spelled out.
Americans need this information because 70% say they want to die peacefully surrounded by friends and family … while actually 70% are dying in institutions surrounded by strangers.
Few people choose to contemplate critical illness or the inevitability of death until their time comes. Because possibilities are rarely discussed, many people are unprepared or unable to make critical end-of-life decisions and spend their last days in over-medicalized and unnecessarily painful and protracted situations.
Breaking through the taboo of discussing death, Hattie Bryant shows that we have choices.
